Hi, I’m Christina. Welcome to Stress Less Millennial. You’re here because you’re looking to take the first step towards a life in which you stress less.
If you’d like to learn how to manage your stress level, you’ve come to the right place. Good for you!
Millennials (ages 18 to 33) have so many reasons to feel stressed every day.
According to the American Psychological Association (APA), millennials experience more stress and are less able to manage it than any other generation. The APA reports that 12% of millennials have a diagnosed anxiety disorder.
The question is, why are millennials so stressed? Let’s look at a few reasons:
Finances
are one of the main reasons for millennial stress. So many millennials are crippled by student debt — an average of 26,000, according to The Atlantic.
To name a few more
decision-overload, being overstimulated by social media, a difficult job market, envy, poor diet choices, lack of sleep, relationship issues, work stress etc.
According to findings published in Harvard Business Review, half of millennial (1,500 people ages 16 and older who were employed at a company were surveyed) respondents have left a job, both voluntarily and involuntarily, partially due to mental health reasons.
This speaks volumes as to how stressed millennials handle adversity and their current ability to cope with these symptoms.
With so many options when making decisions and the world at our fingertips, it makes it even more difficult to narrow down a path to choose in life.
For this reason, it can sometimes feel like it is all up to us to keep this world afloat for future generations; that is a lot of pressure!
First of all, I am one. Secondly, we are arguably the most stressed generation. If you ask me, we are the most impressive in terms of our ambition and what we are capable of.
There is so much more opportunity today. Opportunities to use the internet for fame and capital gain, to work from home or from your vacation. Opportunities to have a full time job, side hustle and maybe time for a social life.
But, more opportunity comes with, you guessed it, lots of stress. This may cause a person to shut down entirely and feel stagnant due to too much opportunity and difficulty knowing where to begin.
My goal with this website is to give you tips and information on how to stress less every day. Some websites bombard you with information. It can be difficult to decide where to begin.
We already know you have decision-overload, so go on my website to take things one step at a time.
I will offer tips on how to become less stressed through experiential suggestions, therapeutic tools, product suggestions, helpful resources and whatever else could help readers with their stress level.
If you stick with me and be patient with yourself, you will find you are a little less stressed every day!…. Don’t worry if you’re not a millennial. Unfortunately, stress knows no bounds. All are welcome here!
