Food and Holiday Stress: Oh Yes they are connected

One of the first things that people do is neglect focusing on what they are eating. More than likely the “quick bite” which is often fast food comes in play.

What you’re eating while you’re dealing with holiday stress is typically not the first thing people think of. But consider this. You’re running around town buying gifts for people, you’re dealing with more traffic in general due to holiday shopping, you’re schedule is packed with getting things done last minute whether you’re hosting for the holidays or just preparing for them.

Drive through restaurants like Burger King love this but your body? Not so much.

Often times when we are busy and eating on the go we tend to not make good food choices. Foods are often cheap during the holidays because we are spending a lot of money. They are therefore often processed foods which make you feel heavy, run down and more stressed.

Check out this article entitled “10 Foods that Fight Holiday Stress,” to ensure you’re sticking to eating things that fuel you rather than just fill you so you can keep up with your busy schedule.  I particularly love the suggestions of eating lentils. They are great for you, freeze well if you’d like to cook them in bulk and best of all they are cheap! Happy shopping and don’t break the bank because you cannot buy a persons love!
