Relationships are one of the most important aspects of our lives. They provide us with love, support, and a sense of connection. However, relationships can also be challenging, especially when things get tough. If you’re looking for ways to improve your relationship with romance, here are 11 tips to take the stress out of your relationship and have more fun together.

1. Focus on good communication. Good communication is sexy: try your best to really hear your partner. Let them know you understand their needs by reflecting back what they said. According to Tonyrobbins.com, “Reflect on what your partner says, and if you’re not sure what he or she means, then ask by restating their point and asking if you understand correctly.” This is very important to avoid miscommunication.

Most importantly, actions speak louder than words, as they say. So, if you say you’re going to do something, be sure to do it. This demonstrates your communication together is working.

2. Surprise your partner, even if it is small. Have them come home to their favorite meal, take them for a walk on the beach, or surprise them with a flirty game like truth or dare. Your partner may have had a rough day. So, taking the time to surprise them could mean the world to them.

3. Take up a new hobby together. Venturing into the unknown creates a nervous excitement. If you try something new together for the first time, you’ll both be sharing in that energy and have a good chance of connecting through this new experience.

4. Be sure to find ways to touch them. Improve your relationship with romance by getting handsy. For instance, a flirty touch of the hand or putting your hands on their waist are fun ways to create sexual chemistry while you’re spending time together.

5. Offer gratitude whenever possible. Who doesn’t love feeling appreciated? Let your partner know you are aware of the little things they do to make you feel good, like holding the door for you or offering to get the appetizer you want.

6. Call them sweet or sexy names when you’re together. Say “hello handsome” or “Hey, beautiful” the moment you see them. This will make them feel attractive and desired. It can only increase the odds you’ll have a romantic time together.

7. Be active together. Suggest a place where you can go hiking, biking, or walking around together. Because getting your body moving increases happy hormones such as endorphins. This increases the odds you will both feel good and feel like you’ve earned that time together laying in bed or cuddling on the couch.

8. Initiate sex. Maybe your partner often has to guess if you’re in the mood for sex? They build up nervous energy by asking or initiating the first move. Catch them by surprise by making the first move and they’ll be sure to feel excited by this unexpected gesture.

9. Be Clear About What Romance Looks Like To You. It is also okay to be transparent with your partner as to what your expectations of what love and romance ideally look like for you. Make sure to discuss this without pointing out what your partner does wrong or what they don’t do.

Keep it to what your fantasies are and be clear that the thought of them fulfilling these fantasies is what excites you. You’ll have a better chance of enticing them to try to match or even surpass this vision of yours to make you happy.

10. Take Charge Of Your Own Romantic Destiny. On the flip side, if you want romance, show your partner what it means to you. Instead of wishing and longing for them to be romantic.

Take matters into your own hands and show them a romantic time. If you let go of placing boundaries on your relationship of who should initiate romance, your partner is much more likely to do something romantic too as a sign of gratitude.

11. Really Be There. A busy or stressful schedule can often distract your mind from making a connection with your partner. But remind yourself whatever it is that is stressing you out can wait. You’ve committed to spending time with your partner, and you can’t do two things at once.

To accomplish this, be present in each moment as much as you can and enjoy the love you have for one another. Really try to feel it with all of your heart. If you get distracted by worry thoughts, it’s okay. Just simply take a relaxing breathe and let it go as many times as you need to.

Sum Up

If you feel like your relationship has lost its spark, don’t worry. You can get it back. It won’t be easy and it will take some work, but the payoff is worth it.

Stress and a busy schedule are factors that affect a romantic connection between you and your partner, but these are some ways to overcome setbacks. You have to find what works for you and your partner to improve your relationship with romance. So, get creative and have fun with it!
